Abstract

The article focuses on the literary meaning of Sprint Corp.'s Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) network Xohm. According to John Polivka of Sprint, Xohm is a made-up word used as a household name to communicate via a WiMAX device. It implies that the name is designed to be synonymous with the mobile Internet, just as Xerox is synonymous with photocopying. Also, it implies that the company aims the network to mean a lot of things.
