Abstract

The author comments on what British Prime Minister Gordon Brown can contribute to the occupational health practitioners. He asserts that the appointment of Caroline Flint as minister for health and wellbeing was a statement that the government meant business and shows a clear line of accountability. He states that further reading of the Conservative paper indicates more layers of NHS bureaucracy will be on the agenda should they be successful in the next election, but more importantly, there is no mention of workplace health interventions.
