Abstract
- The article explores the role of rapporteurs in the European Parliament (EP). A review of literature about rapporteurs within the EP is presented, along with an outline of theoretical explanations as they relate to rapporteurs within theories of legislatures. The article examines the ideology of the rapporteur with respect to the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Consumer Protection during the 4th legislative term of the EP.
