Abstract: Information on several conference papers are presented from the International Symposium on Hepatology in Beijing, China from December 5-9, 1999. Extrahepatic manifestations of cholestasis include pruritus, fatigue, osteoporosis, and cholangiocellular carcinoma, which develops when the epithelium of the intrahepatic bile duct invades the liver. Transplantation of patients with cholestatic liver disease showed good results with few chances to recurring in the graft.
