UMC readies 65-nm RF CMOS process.

The article reports on the approval of Hsinchu, Taiwan-based foundry United Microelectronics Corp.'s 65-nm radio frequency complementary metal oxide semiconductor process. The company is preparing for fundamental libraries, intellectual property and other deliverables for the process available to designers. It claims that the process targets wireless system-on-chip applications, including Wi-Fi, WiMax, wireless USB and cellular.
