Screening for abdominal aortic aneurysm.

This editorial reports on a Cochrane review of screening asymptomatic people for abdominal aortic aneurysm with respect to patient mortality, treatment and cost effectiveness of the screening. While the authors believe that screening is favorable, they discusses the need to improve screening uptake, and to even out mortality statistics across Great Britain which vary widely depending on the resources of the hospitals where the procedures are performed.
