Abstract
- This article analyses the expressions that indicates death in Tuhfa-i Hattateen, the bibliographic work by Mustakimzade Suleiman Sadeddeen Efendi. The book introduces approximately 2200 Turkish, Persian and Arab calligraphers and gives their death with different impressions that changes according to their temperament, fame, and the way or date of death. Sometimes the date of death is explained by enumeration in these expressions: and the use of the words "he/she died" is carefully avoided. Throughout the article, we examined the reasons and the motives behind these expressions with selected examples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
