Abstract
- The article presents the results of a study conducted by Rand Corp. on U.S. military marriages at the behest of the secretary of defense. The study found that women soldiers are several times more likely to return to failed stateside marriages than their male counterparts. Another military marriage trend revealed by the study is the fact that extended deployments for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan are not causing military marriages to fail at a rate greater than they did before the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
