Social Tools in Schools Taking Root.

The article cites surveys of the use of social networking by students in the U.S. A study by the National School Boards Association revealed that students are already using them extensively to discuss schoolwork and their parents support more use of social Web tools in schools. Meanwhile, a Pew Internet study showed in 2006 showed that two-thirds of adolescents have pages on sites such as Facebook or MySpace, and fully three-quarters of college students do.
