Abstract
- The article focuses on medical care for obese people in the U.S. The health risks associated with obesity and the increase in the number of obese persons are discussed. The bias against overweight people measured by the Implicit Associations Test (IAT) and among health care providers in general is explored. Many obese people avoid seeking health care due to the social awkwardness. The implications of obesity on medical diagnoses devices is also discussed.
