Abstract

In the title compound, [Co(C9H8NO4)2(H2O)4]·4H2O, the Co atom lies on an inversion centre in an octahedral environment that is formed from two O atoms of two 2,6-dimethylpyridinium-3,5-dicarboxylate monoanions and four water molecules. Hydrogen bonds that involve the pyridinium NH groups and both coordinated and uncoordinated water molecules give rise to an infinite three-dimensional network. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
