Abstract

This paper is to contribute for the right use of irrigation technologies and the nitrogen application in the maize (Zea mays L.) production. Hence, the objective was determined the influence of two irrigation technologies and two levels of nitrogen application on the area leaf index (AFI), biomass production and the grain income. The design was in divided parcel, the big one consists on two irrigation technologies and the small one consists on two levels of nitrogen. The drip irrigation technique and the dose of 300 kg of N ha-1 shows us the higher addition effect that the others treatments according to biomass production and the grain income. On the contrary the higher value of index leaf area (AFI) with the drip Irrigation techniques and level of 400 kg of N ha-1 was to obtain the higher value of index leaf area (AFI). However, the optimum level area leaf index (AFI) is the principal cause of there is not statistical relationship between the biomass production and the grain income with the irrigation technologies.
