Abstract
- The article discusses the highlights of the inaugural meeting of the Entomology Academy of India held in Chennai on August 18, 2007. Academy Secretary and Treasurer R. W. Alexander Jesudasan emphasized the need for having an academy dedicated to entomology. S. E. Hasnain of the University of Hyderabad stressed the importance of an efficient quarantine system to prevent the transport of pathogens causing plant diseases. Researcher B. K. Tyagi presented a paper on arthropods and their biomedical importance.
