Abstract

The article presents the author's view concerning the issue of carbon accounting and credit process in soils and plants in the U.S. She asserts that the forest is a significant factor for sequestering greenhouse gases (GHG). However, she stresses that she was disappointed about the accounting system for the carbon forestation protocol of some states. She encourages that an individual who wants to do something to help the environment must directly be involved with himself or his municipality. She denotes that being part of developing a carbon credit process will put a person to better understand the outcomes and tools in the said process.
