Abstract

The author reports on young children's fear of automatic flush toilets. According to Philip Kendall, the director of the Child and Adolescent Anxiety Disorders Clinic at Temple University, children are afraid of flush toilets because they are unpredictable. Resources which are available for parents whose children are afraid of automatic toilets are discussed, including a website that lists the locations of the manual toilets found at Disneyland.
