Abstract

The article focuses on the future use of the 570 acres of land after the closure of army post, Fort Monroe, Virginia, in 2011. It states that the decision of the Defense Base Closure and Realignment (BRAC) Commission of the U.S. resulted in a survey by the U.S. National Park Service (NPS) regarding congressional designation of the fort as a unit of the NPS. The U.S. Naval Institute held its annual Honors Night in October 2007 at the Westin Annapolis Hotel, Annapolis, Maryland.
