Abstract

The article offers a look at the implications of the increasing number of coal-fired power plants for archeological structures in the natural parks Mesa Verde in Colorado and Chaco Canyon in New Mexico. It describes the efforts launched to protect the national parks. It reflects on the association between the coal industry, global warming and archeological treasures.
