Abstract
- The authors reflect on the efficacy of oral tacrolimus as treatment for rheumatoid papules (RP) which is described as a rare skin manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). They state that tacrolimus is a nonsteroidal immunomodulatory argent that mainly suppresses T-cell functions by inhibiting calcineurin. They assess that RP eruption has disappeared together with a decrease in the RA activity in response to the lowdose oral tacrolimus administration.
