Abstract

The article presents a study on the role of whole-body F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) scans in the identification of occult biopsy sites and reversible granulomatous disease in patients with sarcoidosis. The results of the 188 FDG PET scans of the 137 patients with sarcoidosis were reviewed. The results indicate that the whole-body FDG PET scans are important in identifying occult and reversible granulomas in patients with sarcoidosis.
