Abstract
- The article reports that Great Britain's two largest teachers' unions, the National Union of Teachers (NUT) and the National Union of Schoolmasters/Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT), plan to seek members' input on strike action, which would be the first national teachers' strike in 20 years, if the government does not improve its pay rise offer for 2008. Information on the inflation rate and the pay rise is presented together with comments on how the situation affects other public sector workers.
