34-Month Delay in Telling Patients of Risk From Doctor's Misuse of Syringes.

This article reports that more than 600 patients in New York State have been notified by the state that they should be tested for hepatitis and HIV infection due to treatment three years ago by an anesthesiologist in Nassau County who reused syringes. Dr. Harvey Finkelstein was charged with infecting patients through the improper use of medical equipment three years ago but the patients were just notified of their risks in 2007.
