Abstract
- This article looks at how states spend the money they get from tobacco companies as part of a court settlement and says that Connecticut took in $140 million in 2007 and spent none of it on smoking prevention measures. Too often the money goes to stadiums, sprinkler systems and the like when some reasonable proportion should be used to help smokers quit and prevent younger people from taking up the habit.
