Abstract

The article describes the case of a 48-year-old female patient with the initial diagnosis of a stage III colorectal cancer and terminal renal failure due to reflux nephropathy requiring regular hemodialysis. Palliative chemotherapy with 5-FU and irinotecan was given, based on published data suggesting safety and good tolerability in patients on hemodialysis. To minimize side effects mainly due to irinotecan, a combined antibody therapy with bevacizumab and cetuximab was provided.
