Abstract
- Abstract: This work presents a numerical solution of Burgers’ equation using the Network Simulation Method, a method that has been used previously to solve problems of heat transfer through the electro-thermal analogy. In this paper, the analogy is extended to velocity, providing an electro-motion analogy. This method permits the direct visualisation of the local and/or integrated transport variables (velocities, temperatures, fluxes) at any point or section of the medium. It also permits both transient and steady-state problems to be solved simultaneously, while programming does not require the manipulation of sophisticated mathematical software that is inherent in other numerical methods. The accuracy and effectiveness of the method is demonstrated by comparing the results with the information existing in the literature. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
