Abstract

The article reports on missed opportunities that the French bank Société Générale, had to apprehend a rogue trader who used fraud which resulted in the bank incurring $7.2 billion in losses. A discussion of the methods which the rogue trader, identified as Jérôme Kerviel, used to cause the largest individual trading hit in banking history, is presented. .
