Abstract

The article examines a study regarding the determinants of 800-meter and 1500-meter running performance using allometric models. According to the author, the study aims to identify the optimal aerobic determinants of elite, middle-distance running (MDR) performance while applying a proportional allometric models. It was inferred that significant differences in running speeds had main effects on the running distance, as well as gender. Furthermore, results of the study suggested a proportional curvilinear association between running speed and the ratio of the variance in performance.
