Abstract

The article presents a study that examines the clinical utility of the first-trimester biochemical markers of aneuploidy in their ability to predict subsequent delivery of a small-for-gestational age infant. The methods and results of the study are discussed. In conclusion, low levels of maternal serum PAPP-A are associated with increased risk for subsequent delivery of an small-for-gestational infant.
