Abstract

The article focuses on the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a particle accelerator, and its purpose of determining what the universe is comprised of through high-energy collisions. Attention is paid to its location in Crozet, France, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, and the fact that scientists want to learn more about the Higgs boson, or the God particle. The fact that the LHC could uncover very important particles and forces is also mentioned. INSET: Frontiers beyond the Higgs.
