Análisis Geoespacial de Servicios Básicos para las Viviendas de Longaví, Retiro y Parral, Región del Maule.

The use and application of Geomatics is being incorporated into local and regional planning processes, strengthening the management of the institutions that use it and thus, contributing to the economic and social development of the population. Knowing the exact location of a specific social deficiency and its distribution in the territory is the starting point to face the problem and carry out actions that lead to its solution. In this context, the main purpose of this study was to explore the new technologies used for the representation of spatial distribution of the homes and the availability or lack of basic services they require. The base information used in this research was taken from the project "Digital Registry of Housing for Land Management. Longaví, Retiro and Parral Counties" financed by the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR) and executed by the Universidad de Talca during the years of 2004-2005. This project considered the house as the minimal unit of space representation. Considering this information, in this study the houses were identified and classified according to their level of lack of basic services by means of a geospatial analysis. The results indicate that 9.3% of the houses have a high level of lack of basic services, 18.1% of the houses have a medium level and 72.6% have a low level of lack of basic services.
