- The article considers the books "Democracy in America," by Alexis de Tocqueville and "The Lonely Crowd," by David Reisman as vital interpretations of the American society. It addresses the lack of credentials of both Reisman and Tocqueville as sociologists. It criticizes the social aspects presented in the books. It emphasizes the importance of the two books in the field of social science research.
