Abstract
- The article describes the organ music of Olivier Messiaen, an orchestral composer in the twentieth century in Paris, France. He has religious-inspired works such as "Les offrandes oubliées" and "Hymne au Saint-Sacrement." It is asserted that two of his renowned early organ pieces were originally considered for orchestra and are subsequently transcribed. His "Paraphrase-Carillon" contains a flamboyant two-part free polyphony and birdsong music.
