Abstract

The article focuses on the data released by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, regarding the declaration of endangered species. It states that the Fish and Wildlife Service has not declared any animal species as endangered since 618 days. Former Interior secretary James Watt criticized the administration of former U.S. president Ronald Reagan for ignoring the endangered species of critters. Administration under the presidentship of George W. Bush has listed only 58 species, as compared to 522 species under the presidentship of Bill Clinton. It mentions that the Fish and Wildlife Service has also postponed the declaration of the polar bears as an endangered species and stresses that the Bush administration have to work towards countering global warming to protect the bear species.
