Abstract

The article reports on the success of a "back-to-maps" approach to teaching geography at the Magdalen College School in Oxford, England. It is reported that seventy-five students at the school elected to take General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) geography following the implementation of maps-based teaching methods, compared to thirty students in the year before the program began. Details of "back-to-maps" teaching methods are offered.
