Abstract
- The article discusses the role of parents in preventing childhood depression and examines the role of gene-environment interplay. According to the author, the presence of a healthy and involved parents in the home can guard at-risk children from later psychopathology. It states that greater understanding of gene-environment interplay could shape human appreciation of the etiology of child and adolescent psychiatric illness, which increases the role of parental family and other environment interventions.
