Abstract
- The article discusses a school-based collaboration in the U.S. The directive of the 2004 Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA) and the No Child Left behind Act (NCLB) of 2001 emphasizes the need for school-based collaboration. The two acts require students with disabilities to have access to the general education curriculum and be educated in the least-restrictive environment and also require teachers in general education to attend individualized education curriculum meetings and provide input. It talks about the definition of school-based collaboration defined by school staff and its effectiveness.
