Abstract

This article reports on U.S. President George W. Bush and his changing views on global warming and emissions standards. On April 16, 2008, Bush announced that he would like America's emissions to peak in 2025, changing his original stance of decreasing emissions by units of output. This goal still falls short of those outlined in the United Nations' Kyoto protocol. The article also discusses Bush's environmental policies, how his announcement may affect Congress, and why he may have changed his mind.
