Abstract
- The article describes the design of the Palmyra House in Mumbai, India created by architect Bijoy Jain. He designed the Palmyra House with louvers made from the Palmyra tree's cut, dried and locally harvested wood, setting a course of using sustainable, regional materials to guide the project. Jain split the house's program between the two building volumes, placing the living room, study and master bedroom in the north block and the kitchen, dining room and guest bedrooms in the south block.
