Abstract
- This article focuses on the city of San Francisco, California and its decision to ban plastic shopping bags. The article explains that city supervisor Ross Mirkarimi led the legislation to ban the bags. The city is the first to ban plastic shopping bags from grocery stores and drug stores. A dozen U.S. cities and four states are considering similar bans.
