- The author reports on the election of Harvinder Anand as mayor of Laurel Hollow, New York. According to the article, Anand, who was born in India, is the first minority to be elected to the position of mayor in Laurel Hollow. A rise in the number of Indians who have been elected to public office in mostly Caucasian communities is discussed.
