Abstract

The article presents information regarding the features of iCal, an electronic calendar in the form of a computer software. The version of iCal included with OS X 10.5 has features for managing group schedules. Through, iCal one can now check other people's availability before choosing a meeting time, create calendars that more than one person can edit, schedule locations and resources, and access the same calendar from multiple computers without using Apple Inc.'s .Mac service. Most of these features require a CalDAV server. Even if one does not have a server, he can take advantage of some group features on his local network by installing a copy of BusyMac. This software supports multiuser editing and synchronization without requiting Mac.
