Abstract

The article evaluates stock prices in the hotel industry. Hotels suffer during recessions, and 250,000 new rooms will come on the market in the U.S. in 2008-2009, factors which indicate sluggish profits at best. Companies which manage hotels such as InterContinental Hotels and Wyndham Worldwide such perform better than the real estate investment trusts which build and own the actual properties.
