Abstract
- The article reports that the mystery books from Great Britain has entered the U.S. market. According to Scottish crime writer Val McDermid, author Agatha Christie has created an expectation about British mystery writers. Based on the article, the noir traditions set down by Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett have been embraced by a new generation of British crime writers. The author says publishers pursue a British author based on personal taste and the trend in the U.S. market. INSETS: Bloody Brits;Severn House and Soho Press;New to Our Shores.
