Abstract
- The article focuses on a broad corporate restructuring demanded by some shareholders of Swiss bank USB AG during its annual general meeting in Basel in 2008. Stockholders who attended the event opposed the election of former UBS general counsel Peter Kurer as chairman of the board. The executive pledged to simplify the structure of the bank and to depend more on its private bank business. The board comprises mostly of non-bankers.
