Abstract
- The author focuses on the status of the textile and apparel industry in China. According to the author, the change in the biannual China Import and Export Fair or the Canton Fair in 2008 is a barometer for the country's foreign trade. The author cites the impact of the country's struggle with its huge trade surplus on its foreign exchange reserves. The author also notes that most Chinese textile and clothing exporters are manufacturers.
