Developing Right- and Left-Hand Independence.

The article offers suggestions by pianist and composer Herb Rothgarber on using both the hands skillfully while playing piano. Rothgarber considers the degree of independence in using hands to be based on each child's level and ability. He suggests that students begin with some off-instrument activities, such as awareness games and movement games involving the arms and hands, individually and in combination.
