This article describes how four middle-class women underwent plastic surgery and describes how they paid for it through credit, help from family, and military bonuses. The women discuss how self-consciousness about their body images prompted them to seek plastic surgery including face lifts, tummy tucks, and breast augmentations even though it was difficult for them to afford.
