How Chávez Has Helped the Poor.

In this article the author replies to the article "An Empty Revolution," by Francisco Rodríguez that appeared in the March/April 2008 issue. A number of points are discussed including the government of Hugo Chávez, president of Venezuela, elections that have taken place there during his term in office and social reforms that have been undertaken. The author rejects the contention made by Rodríguez that Chavez's actions have been ineffectual. The author cites arguments in favor of the success of Chávez's social programs.
