Abstract

The thermal conductivity of bio-SiC, a heavily defected material with specific cellular pores (channels), was studied in the temperature range 5–300 K. The bio-SiC sample was prepared from the SiC/Si biomorphic composite through the chemical removal of silicon. The thermal conductivity of silicon embedded in cellular pores of the SiC/Si biomorphic composite was determined. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
