Abstract

The article presents a detailed description of the journey of six Cuban baseball players, namely Yunel Escobar, Jose Cordero, Joel Perez, Rafael Galbizo, Yamel Guevara and Johan Limonta, from Cuba to Florida to make a career in baseball in Florida. Two weeks before boarding the boat that would smuggle them out of Cuba, they left their homes. During their voyage, the boat was circled by sharks. Finally, they arrived in Florida. Only Escobar managed to make a career in baseball. INSET: 'Wet foot, dry foot'.
