Breast-Feeding, Antiretroviral Prophylaxis, and HIV.

The authors reflect on breast feeding, antiretroviral prophylaxis and the transmission of HIV from mother to child through breast feeding in poor countries. The authors suggest that care givers and mothers in poor countries will continue to select treatment options that best suit their economic and psychological needs. They argue that science will need to adapt and design strategies to meet the needs of patients.
